    <title>GFI FaxMaker supported OCR languages</title>
    <description>
     <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
      <p>

GFI FaxMaker's optional optical character recognition (OCR) module can be used to convert all incoming faxes to a readable text using OCR technology and then route the fax to the correct user by keyword. For example, you can route by first or last name or by job function. If GFI FaxMaker cannot match a recipient, it will automatically route the fax to the default recipient or router. This is especially handy if you plan to archive your faxes, since it makes searching for a particular fax much easier.

It supports over 100 different languages in the Western OCR module; and supports Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean in the Asian OCR module.

GFI FaxMaker supports the following languages for OCR.

    <title>Using GFI FaxMaker in a hosted email environment</title>
    <description>
     <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
      <p>

GFI FaxMaker is a very flexible solution, having various ways to use the product in conjunction with a hosted email service.

Using the GFI FaxMaker Client

Each user needs to have the GFI FaxMaker client installed on their workstation. This provides them with print-to-fax functionality using the GFI FaxMaker printer and the ability to send faxes directly to the fax server. After printing the desired document to the GFI FaxMaker printer, the GFI FaxMaker Message Form is launched and the user has the option of entering the number manually or choosing from a contact list.

Users have the option of accessing their Microsoft Outlook contacts or using a public or private GFI FAXmaker address book. After the user enters the subject and body text, if desired, they click Send. This will send the fax message via SMTP directly from their workstation to the fax server. The fax server will convert the message into a fax, send it to the recipien

PROBLEM

Transmission reports are not delivered to distribution lists when SBS2011 is used as the SMTP server. In the GFI FAXmaker configuration -&amp;gt; Email2faxGateway settings, the Send test email' button results in the following error:

Sending test from 'test@faxmaker.com' to 'secsbs@sbs2011.local' failed.

    <title>How to overwrite the sender by using the NetPrintQueue2Fax printer</title>
    <description>
     <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
      <p>

The NetPrintQueue2Fax Printer uses the printer driver to send a fax messaqge, which by default uses the logged on username. In some situations, it is required to overwrite this account, such as:

Using a batch print job which is executed by one user account

In this case the print job will be executed by one account, but the customer requirements could be that the transmission report should be sent to other individual users, which are entered in the document.

Client based printing with several user accounts

In this case the requirements are that several users are able to print over the NetPrintQueue2Fax, but the transmission report should be sent to only one account, which is entered in the document.

NOTE: The normal behaviour is that the TextAPI command &quot;::FR&quot; and &quot;::FROM&quot; will be ignored.

Solution:

    <title>Upgrading GFI FaxMaker</title>
    <description>
     <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
      <p>

Minor Version Upgrade

A Minor software upgrade occurs within the same version of the product, for example upgrading from GFI FaxMaker 2011 to GFI FaxMaker 2011 Service Release 1, or from GFI FaxMaker 2011 Service Release 1 to FaxMaker 2011 Service Release 2.

If you are performing a minor version upgrade and already have a working license key in the product, GFI FaxMaker 2011 will make use of the current license key.

Major Version Upgrade

A major version upgrade occurs from one major version to the next, for example upgrading from GFI FaxMaker 14.xx to GFI FaxMaker 2011, or from GFI FaxMaker 12.xx to GFI FaxMaker 2011. Upgrade is possible from any minor or service release within the same version number, for example from v14, v14.3, etc..

When upgrading GFI FaxMaker to the next major version, for example from GFI FaxMaker 14.xx or earlier to the latest release of GFI FaxMaker, you need to upgrad
