    <title>How can I change the location of the GFI MailArchiver Import Directories?</title>
    <description>
     <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
      <p>

By default, GFI MailArchiver Import Service uses the &amp;lt;GFIMailArchiverMAIS&amp;gt; folder structure for import operations. If the drive where GFI MailArchiver is installed has a limited amount of disk space, it would not be possible to import a large number of emails due to the limited disk space to store the emails temporarily on disk. The following procedure explains how to change the GFI MailArchiver Import Directory to another disk on the same server:

  Stop the GFI MailArchiver Import Service

  Create the new GFI MailArchiver Import Folders on another disk. The directories should be as follows:</p>
<p>

      Pickup : Example: E:MARCImportPickup

      Queue : Example: E:MARCImportQueue

      Unclassified : Example: E:MARCImportUnclassified</p>
<p>

  Once you have created the folders described above, browse to the follo

    <title>How do I increase the GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector timeout value?</title>
    <description>
     <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
      <p>

The timeout value of the GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector would need to be increased if the connection between the GFI MailArchiver Outlook Connector and the GFI MailArchiver server is slow. The timeout value can be increased using either of the following methods:

  Modify the GeneralSettings.xml locally on a machine. Ideal if you need to change the timeout value for a single computer

  Modify the timeout value via the GFI MailArchiver Group Policy ADM template. This method should be used if the timeout value needs to be increased for a number of computers:

The procedures mentioned above are discussed further below:

Modify the GeneralSettings.xml locally on a machine

  Ensure that Microsoft Outlook is not running on the computer.

  Browse to the following directory:</p>

<p>Microsoft Windows XP</p>

    <title>How to move a GFI MailArchiver Firebird database to another disk on the same server</title>
    <description>
     <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
      <p>

This article describes how to move a GFI MailArchiver Firebird database to another disk on the same server. This may be required when you are running out of disk space on the partition where the database is currently stored. The procedure below may also be used to move either the GFI MailArchiver database only or the email binary source only to another disk on the same server to increase GFI MailArchiver performance by reducing the disk I/O (reads and writes) on the same disk.</p>
<p></p>
<p>Proceed as follows:

    Ensure that the new disk is initialized and partitioned correctly on the GFI MailArchiver Server.

    Temporarily disable archiving of emails. This can be done from the GFI MailArchiver configuration -&amp;gt; Mail Servers to Archive -&amp;gt; Edit the settings of each mail server and unselect Archive emails from this server', and click the Finish' button.</p>
