GFI MailSecurity is a content integrity solution that defends your IT infrastructure against malware (viruses, malicious code, etc) commonly propagated via email. The content and attachment filters provided in GFI MailSecurity are complimentary features through which emails containing listed keywords or meeting specific attachment criteria can be blocked or acted upon in a specific manner. For example, the content filter can be set to block emails containing names or references to competitors or competitor products based on a list of competitor related keywords. This allows IT pros to discriminate between legitimate and unauthorized email without compromising email operability. Although possible, we do not recommend using these filters as your sole antispam countermeasure. An effective anti-spam solution implies a cohesion of intelligent techniques that complement and go beyond the keyword and attachment checking functionality provided by the content and attachment filters. GFI is pleased to announce the availability of GFI MailSecurity 10 for Exchange/SMTP with Windows 2008 support, Beta 1. 

This Beta release gives our customers the opportunity to perform acceptance or in-house testing of GFI MailSecurity in Windows 2008 environments before the final production release. 

As this build is currently a Beta, we discourage installations on live server environments. 

Installation requirements for GFI MailSecurity 10 


  If installing on Microsoft IIS SMTP (x86/x64), Microsoft Exchange Server 2000, or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, then Microsoft IIS with World Wide Web Service and SMTP Service installed is required.

    <title>What are the System requirements for GFI MailSecurity?</title>

To install GFI MailSecurity, you would require the following: 


  Windows Server 2003 Standard/Enterprise (x86 or x64 Edition), or Windows 2000 Professional/Server/Advanced Server (Service Pack 1 or higher), or Windows XP.</p>
<p>Note: Since the version of Internet Information Services (IIS) included in Windows XP is limited to serving only 10 simultaneous client connections, installing GFI MailSecurity on a machine running Windows XP could affect its performance.</p>
<p> 
  
  Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, 2003, 2000 (SP1), 5.5, 5, 4, or Lotus Notes 4.5 and up, or any SMTP/POP3 mail server.</p>
<p>Notes: 
  
  
    If you are installing on Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, you need one of the following:
    
    
      Edge Server Role
      
      Hub Transport Role (and any other Microsoft Exchange 2007 server roles which are irrelevant to GFI MailSecurity)
